Non-Aligned Newsreels – Fragments

Mila Turajlic opened the 18th edition of Lo Schermo dell’Arte Festival with Non-Aligned Newsreels – Fragments, a live performance created for the event. On the stage of the Teatro della Compagnia, the artist assembled in real time a selection of archival materials from former Yugoslavia documenting African liberation movements of the 1950s, interwoven with oral histories and recordings she collected.

For the 2024–2025 season, the French version of the performance became a production of the Théâtre National de Bretagne and will tour across France until 2027.
