Volcanic Identities

In this seminar Fulbright Visiting Artist Iria Vretou (Columbia University) considers the place of volcanoes in the history and culture of the Eastern Mediterranean and draws on her travels to areas of volcanic activity and her documentation of them through field recordings, drawings, and animation to critically question common or exhausted understandings of identity by thinking through the point of view of geological formations with a diverse life of cultural associations.
