Exile in Paris: the Junta Years

After the dictatorship of the Colonels seized power in Greece in 1967, many intellectuals and artists found refuge in Paris. The first of a series of events exploring Paris as a city of exiles, this event features a conversation with the eminent Greek film-maker Costas Ferris about art, politics and life.

Costas Ferris was born in Cairo in 1935 and is one of Greece’s best-known film-makers, His Rembetiko won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival in 1984.

Ersi Sotiropoulos is a poet, novelist, and short story writer living and working in Athens.
