The Light that Burns Us

Karen Van Dyck

Jarza Khaleed's collection of poems has just come out in English, edited and translated from Greek by Karen Van Dyck. Karen worked on this volume while a Fellow at the Institute.

The Light That Burns Us has been published by World Poetry Books.

Van Dyck remembers: “Those of us lucky enough to attend Khaleed’s reading at the Heyman Center at Columbia in 2016 will remember his startling slam poetry performance in which he denounced the European treatment of migrants beating the rhythms of antifa chants with his hands on the seats and walls of the seminar room.”
