“Dear Chrysanthemums”
Fiona Sze-Lorrain
An interview with Fiona Sze-Lorrain about her debut novel "Dear Chrysanthemums" appeared in Asymptote.
Dear Chrysanthemums is the new novel by the former Fellow, poet, and translator, Fiona Sze-Lorrain. “Covering an interconnected web of women, the novel begins during the tumult of early twentieth-century China and spans decades of displacement and exile across the world. At once brutal and tender, this novel of women’s lives has the power to move and complicate our understanding of the long shadow cast by revolution as well as the inextinguishable longing every person has for beauty, love, art, and selfhood.” Last spring, Asymptote interviewed Sze-Lorrain.
