Plateau

Karimah Ashadu’s art installation Plateau will be shown at the Public Art Passage in Munich from October 24, 2025 to May 1, 2026. On October 31, she will participate in a public screening and talk with Andrea Lissoni, director of Haus der Kunst.

“Her 30-minute film Plateau (2021) shows the post-colonial challenges faced by a group of undocumented, self-employed tin miners in Nigeria’s Jos Plateau, who are determined to earn a living under precarious conditions. The film combines lyrical and investigative elements to depict the relationship between the landscape and the physical exertions of the workers.”
