COVID-19: a word from the Director

As you will know, in response to the COVID-19 crisis we have been obliged to shut down the Institute building at Reid Hall. Our community, temporarily dissolved, is now re-emerging online as the Institute becomes a gathering place for our Fellows and our friends to exchange ideas, thoughts and work and to share them with others through the coming months.

Our regular Fellows’ talks, Rendez-vous de l’Institut, will continue on Zoom, supplemented by additional talks and discussions. Please check our Events page for details and contact us if you would like to join in.

Please consult our Cahiers for ongoing work and thoughts by Fellows and staff. And check out the activities of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Public Humanities Initiative and the remarkable array of educators, artists, curators and students we will be working with.

Ideas and imagination have never been as precious as now. We hope that ours will be a solace in these difficult times.
