Danfotronics

Emeka Ogboh will present Danfotronics on July 2 at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin. Presented within Volkswagen Group Art4All and curated by Ogboh, the project transforms a Lagos Danfo bus into a sound system sculpture, bringing together music, field recordings, and live performances that create a dialogue between Lagos and Berlin through sound and listening practices.

“You don’t just see a city. You hear it, too. In Lagos, much of daily life takes place aboard the yellow Danfo bus. This July, the Danfo will arrive at the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin—not as a mode of transportation, but as an instrument. It will carry voices, music, and recordings from Lagos, transforming into a sound installation on the museum terrace. For one afternoon, the Danfo will become a sound sculpture, bringing Lagos into dialogue with Berlin.”
