Juan Gabriel Vásquez’s latest novel, Los nombres de Feliza, was reviewed by David Gallagher for the Times Literary Supplement.

“Vásquez’s latest book stars Feliza Bursztyn (1933–82), a Colombian sculptor who studied under Ossip Zadkine and César. She died from a heart attack in Paris while having dinner with her husband, Pablo, Gabriel García Márquez and his wife, Mercedes. Vásquez was moved to write the novel when he came across a column by García Márquez, who had written, with his customary deadpan assertiveness, that she had died of grief.”
