A Fidai Film in French Cinemas

Kamal Aljafari’s film A Fidai Film (2024) is released in cinemas across France today (March 4, 2026).

The documentary revisits the looting of the Palestine Research Center’s archives during the Israeli invasion of Beirut in 1982. Drawing on photographs and film materials seized at the time, Aljafari reconstructs what he calls a “camera of the dispossessed,” reassembling fragments of visual memory to question how archives, power, and history intertwine.
