2026 James Barnor Prize

Sabelo Mlangeni has been awarded the 2026 James Barnor Prize, which recognizes outstanding photographers from across Africa. To mark the occasion, The Guardian published a selection of Mlangeni’s photographs, highlighting his long-term engagement with queer and rural communities in South Africa and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
