Stirring the Pot:

Carte blanche for Emeka Ogboh

Emeka Ogboh has been invited by the cultural center La Friche Belle de Mai in Marseilles for a long-term exhibition combining installation work, as well as sensory art, highlighting links between the Southern French city and different ports in West Africa.

An internationally renowned artist, Emeka Ogboh is interested in migration issues and the links that women and men weave with places of life, memory or passage. For his first solo show in a French institution, the artist will take up several exhibition spaces where he will develop an artistic project throughout the summer: dinners with different African chefs, beer brewing, DJ Sets and radio sessions, and a publication of a collection of recipes. Stirring the Pot is part of the Africa 2020 programming, and will go on through the end of October.
