Lynnette Widder won a a 2023 Architecture + Design Independent Projects from the Architecture League for her design proposal, Rogue Plants, Native Soils: Histories of Destruction and Its Opposites.

“Combined with maps and images, this essay collection by architect and historian Lynnette Widder will consider what design can learn from the role played by non-anthropogenic elements—namely, plant life and soil—in responding to destruction. The collection will focus on specific instances of human settlement disturbance: war (Germany, 1945-49), economic attrition (New York City, 1975-83), and Anthropocene climate response (Paris and New York City).”
