Dina Nayeri at the American Library in Paris

Dina Nayeri will be a Visiting Fellow at the American Library in Paris.

Nayeri will spend Fall 2021 at the Library working on her forthcoming book, Who Gets Believed, a reflection on how truth shifts to accommodate insiders of class, faith, and culture. The book will use philosophy, literature, memory and thought, as well as original reporting to show how the culture of belief is coded, and reaffirmed over time; and, with signals taught to insiders from childhood, how impenetrable that culture is for refugees, people of color, and other vulnerable people. Dina began research on this work during her Fellowship at the Institute.
