Bouchra Khalili events in NYC this month
2019-2020 Fellow and artist Bouchra Khalili will be in New York this month for events at the New Museum and at Cooper Union.

The Tempest Society
October 19th | 3p.m.
This is the US premiere of The Tempest Society (2017). Commissioned and first show at documenta 14 (Athens) this work illuminates the Al-Assifa (Arabic for “The Tempest”), a little known North African immigrant worker and French student theater group active from 1972-1978 in Paris. Khalili will also present the recent publication, The Tempest Society, with curator and writer Omar Berrad.

Calling the Ghosts: On Bearing Witness to the Future
October 22nd | 7p.m.
Part of the Intra-Disciplinary Seminar series Open Society Foundations, Khalili will deliver a lecture on her work that expands upon important questions of her artistic practice.
