Parler une voix:

Maylis de Kerangal in conversation with Thomas Dodman
Zoom video conference

Join us for a conversation between Thomas Dodman and acclaimed French novelist Maylis de Kerangal in Paris, together with students from the History and Literature MA at Reid Hall.

Maylis de Kerangal is the author of numerous award-winning novels, including Réparer les vivants, Naissance d’un pont, Un chemin de tables, and Un monde à portée de main. Her writing blends documentary precision with dramatic plot lines and vivid characters in a unique, lyrical style. Drawing from her most recent collection of essays (Canoës), we will explore the forms of knowledge that fictional writing can produce, what kind of a voice it can be in the world.

Please note that the discussion and readings will take place primarily in French.

This event is jointly organized by the Columbia Maison Française, the History & Literature MA, the Institute for Ideas and Imagination, and Columbia Global Centers.
