For the first episode of the series on dreams, Alfredo Spagna interviewed Delphine Oudiette. They discussed what dreams are, the challenges of studying them, and dream research – including Thomas Edison and Salvador Dali’s experiments for capturing the moment when one falls asleep, a stage they both believed was conducive to creative genius.

Delphine Oudiette is a researcher in cognitive neurosciences at the Paris Brain Institute. Her work aims to understand what happens when we sleep on a cerebral, cognitive, and subjective level, and the role dreams play in it.
