The High Winds of Kerguelen
Marie Doezema and David Goldberg discuss the idea of carbon capture and storage on the Kerguelen Plateau in the Indian Ocean. Composed of volcanic rock three times the size of Japan, and one of the windiest places on the planet, Kerguelen holds enormous potential (and challenges) for this growing technology already underway in Iceland and the United States.
Marie Doezema joined Columbia Global Centers | Paris in the fall of 2022 to support and develop special projects, including collaborations with City Diplomacy Lab, AgorAkademi, and Dart Centre Europe. She also works closely with visiting faculty and graduate students during their time at Reid Hall, and is developing a forthcoming podcast series which shares the cultural, intellectual, and artistic community of the Paris Center with the wider world.
