Visitors

In addition to its fellowship cohort, the Columbia Institute for Ideas and Imagination welcomes short-term visitors from the Columbia community.

Faculty, lecturers, post-doctoral scholars and graduate students are all encouraged to contact either the Director or the Administrative Director with proposals for workshops, seminars and conferences that they may wish to organise at the Institute.

There is no formal competition deadline for such proposals, but a provisional program and a preliminary budget are helpful. Space permitting, it may also be possible to arrange short-term stays ranging from a few days to a month or more. The Institute can provide assistance and facilities for arranging events, and works closely with - among others - the Columbia Global Centers I Paris, the Heyman Center for the Humanities and departments and schools across the university to foster intellectual and cultural activities on its premises.

We work closely with the Heyman Center for the Humanities and the Society of Fellows on the Morningside campus of Columbia University, as well as PSL, Le Musée d'Orsay, the three French institutions of the Alliance, the Cité internationale des Arts, and the Bibliothèque nationale de France, among other partners.
